Jan Ševčík recently visited Gebze Technical University in Turkey to explore potential scientific collaboration with Prof. Muhammet Uzuntarla’s research group. During the visit, he presented and discussed our work on modeling very high-frequency oscillations in EEG signals from epilepsy patients. The group’s research focuses on synchronization in neural networks involving astrocytes, and the visit facilitated an exchange of ideas, laying the groundwork for future collaboration.

Jan Ševčík at student mini-conference
In June, Jan Ševčík had the opportunity to present the findings of his dissertation project related to the study of the emergence of very high-frequency oscillations. The presentation took place at the student mini-conference organized by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
Deepta visited Computer Science and Mechanics University of Warsaw
Deeptajyoti recently visited the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Mechanics University of Warsaw to build a scientific collaboration with Prof. Urszula Forys. They are working on perceptual decision-making models, which describe the complex dynamics of neuronal populations. These models help describe how the brain can make decisions when it needs to make choices. This work is related to his ongoing MSCA project, CrossInteraction. Also, he presented his work in their weekly seminar, which was based on the seasonal dynamics of prey-predator interaction models with cross-predation.
